To the residents of the 46th Ward, A huge thanks to everyone for their incredible support during my campaign for 46th Ward Alderman. While it was disappointing to lose the election, nothing can take away the honor and privilege to have represented you in this effort to make our Ward a better place. For a long-time grassroots activist, but newcomer to a Chicago political campaign, I gave Alderman Shiller the closest race of her 20-year career, with less than 700 votes separating us in the end. Political experts said they found the success of our volunteer, grassroots operation remarkable, with nothing to compare it to in this election cycle. Many people have asked me if I'm willing to run again in four years since the results of this election were so close. My answer at this time, is Yes. We're too close to stop now. This campaign website will remain and will provide periodic updates about my activities. In the meantime, please continue your efforts in improving the 46th Ward by joining a local neighborhood organization. These organizations can play a vital role in connecting us to each other and helping neighbors achieve goals that serve us all. Thank you all for your support, and I look forward to seeing all of you in the months ahead. --- James |
